3 Easy Ways to Be a Better Esthetician and Grow Your Business:

So you're an Esthetician like me and wanting to grow. Maybe you've been working for commission as of late and are looking to finally get out on your own, make your own rules and shine, maybe you're wanting to scale your business or just need to get your schedule booked up! I've been there and I'm sharing my top 3, easy ways to start filling that book, boosting your sales, and being more confident in your work:

1) Pick 3! Choose 3 services you love and are really good at. Preferably one facial service, one waxing service, and one specialty treatment like eyelash tinting or airbrush spray tanning. Start offering a discount for one of those services if you book another. For instance, one of my favorite facial services is dermaplaning, so I would offer 1/2 off eyelash tinting for the month of (your choice) with any dermaplaning treatment. Send out emails, blast it consistently on social media on your regular posts, make a reel out of it, and put it in your daily stories. Share as many pictures of both services as you can and share facts about them. For instance: "This month only! Get 1/2 off gorgeous eyelash tinting (no more mascara!) when you book a dermaplaning treatment. Did you know there's no downtime with dermaplaning? That's right! Get rid of dead skin and facial hair and still get to enjoy the weekend outside (with a little sunscreen, of course!)"

Talk about these 3 services to all your clients, especially when they're getting another service like a brow wax. Share interesting facts such as "The eyelash tint I use is a blue/black combo giving your eyes that extra pop of cool tones that lasts an entire month, and you won't have to grab your mascara!" This is a great way to get add-on treatments and unexpected bookings. Have the client book that service in advance, if they're not adding it on that day.

2) Add the feet! Step up your facial services with a foot massage. I can't tell you how many clients over the years came back to me time and time again because I added the feet in the massage portion of my facials. Hot towels are a must, essential oils are a great touch (especially something minty for the feet, like peppermint) and make sure you grab yourself a chair, because you want to be comfortable, too. Not the biggest fan of feet? Are you a fan of extra money?? I get it, other people's feet can be weird to touch, especially if you're not used to it, but hot towels are the key! Wrap each foot in a hot towel (with or without a few drops of peppermint), and squeeze the foot gently before slowly wiping each foot with the towel, as you remove. Add some massage oil (I really like avocado oil for massage) and work those tootsies! Youtube is a great source for how-to's, of you're not familiar.

3) Make it mindful. The new flex? It's not about designer bags or fancy equipment—it’s about energy. In today’s world, clients crave more than just results. They want presence. Peace. A feeling.

So let your space reflect that. Infuse intention into everything. Light some sage or palo santo to clear the energy before your day begins. Keep a few crystals on your treatment cart—maybe rose quartz for love, amethyst for intuition, or citrine for abundance. Bring in life with fresh plants or flowers.

When your space feels grounded, you feel grounded, and that alignment is magnetic. Clients can sense when you're not just rushing through a service but truly connected to what you do. And that energy? That’s what keeps them coming back.

Mindfulness isn’t a trend. It’s your edge.

Implementing these 3 simple steps can significantly increase sales, create unexpected bookings, and add-on services to new and existing clients.

~Bonus Tip: Take a moment each day to feel the gratitude for each and every service you have that day, or that week, even if it's only a few. I know, it can seem silly to be grateful when you're trying to get more in the door, but gratitude is really the ultimate key. FEELING grateful brings in more to be grateful for!
